A legend of a man with more clubs than Jack Nicklaus, as he himself said.

He shall be greatly missed, he and his like don't come around too often. The two greats he's with here achieved more than he did as regards silverware, but would acknowledge Tommy's right to a place at their table. Photo taken in 1977 but reprinted at Bob Paisley's retirement in 1982.


RIP Tommy, heaven will be louder with you up there.

Credited with many famous quotes but my favourite was

"Ive heard him compared to Billy McNeil......but i don't remember big Billy being crap"

Never spoken in the same company as Stein, Shankly, Busby or Ferguson but certainly a very notable Scottish manager.

Tragic we have lost him and the brilliant Jim Mclean in the same week
