Hi all,

Anyone succeed with bids today?.

Lot 41 looked interesting at £85.

Kidderminster vs Cardiff friendly 1956/7, and 2 Gloucester friendlies from same season vs Leicester and Bristol City same season amongst others.

I put in commissioned bids on about 8 lots and lost them all.

I saw lot 41 . I'd say the Kidderminster is about £40 right now and I was the underbidder on that lot. I had to go out so couldn't;t up my bid. I would have paid more to get that lot, just to sell on the others. A bit of an anomaly on the Mansfield one, their post sales results show as £90 but the Saleroom show the hammer price at £160! Which plus fees brings it to £200.

I had a run in with two auction house recently, one where they misdescribed an item (and we can't view so have to rely on the descriptions online). My mate also bought an expensive lot and it turned out they were copies! The second one were just plain rude when I offered stuff to be sold.

Having said that there must be a lot of money swimming around as some lots went for really big money, and even bundles of general items sold well above expectation. I'm just glad I don't collect Man U!!

Tony

I understand that the Gloucester vs Cardiff WC 1958/9 issue was in there as was Ton Pentre vs City Welsh League 1954/5.

Cheers

John

Nice one John. Luckily I have the Gloucester one and would have kept the Ton Pentre one too. Someone will make a nice profit on that lot. Coming to a well know auction site soon!
