1936.
A very famous game in Rovers history for all the wrong reasons.
Joe Payne scored 10 goals in Luton's 12-0 win.
At some point the comemorative coin was made.

15 April 1933. While the first team was away at Hull City (don’t have that one) Carlisle Reserves were at home to Darlington. The William Dand sports outfitters adverts appeared on Carlisle programmes from around 1923 up until the war. Their football jerseys, knickers and stockings must have been popular. It’s strange how language and terminology changes over time.

16 April 1949
Kilmarnock Reserves v Edinburgh City
Scottish C Division

The “Killie Whites” are iconic programmes and much sought after. They don’t come up for sale very often and command very good prices.

Lovely programme that Killie one.

I've gone all modern today 16th April 2013, cover features the iconic programme man outside the Railway Inn on Bramall Lane.

My little is in the programme on the centre pages, with the rest of United's Academy.

They did half a dozen of these type of covers towards the end of that season

Easter Saturday 16th April 1949 - Div III South

Crystal Palace v Southend United 2-1 but Palace stay in 22nd and last place and that's where they ended up. 2 goals from Belgian winger Marcel Gaillard but I don't have an image of him.

And finally a quiz from inside this programme, thought you might fancy your chances and might have the time in these very long days. I have the answers if anyone needs them. Good luck!

18 April 1947

South Shields v Carlisle Reserves. I don’t usually buy programmes with punched holes but older Carlisle Aways in the North Eastern League don’t turn up very often.

The first team were at home to Tranmere the following day and I will put that one on here tomorrow.

18th April 1960 brought an Easter trip to Skegness for one of Stockton’s last away fixtures in the old Midland League.

The cover features Skegness’ legendary Jolly Fisherman alongside a map of the Eastern side of England. I’m not quite sure how North Eastern clubs Stockton, North Shields, South Shields, Ashington, Blyth Spartans Consett, Spennymoor and Horden ended up playing in the Midland League. Ashington to Peterborough was a 430 mile round trip. There can’t have been a longer all round trip in non-league football during that era.
