OMG. Chris Williams of Sportingold has passed on.
RIP Chris, sad news both for the hobby and his club for Chris was a loyal supporter of Manchester City for many years through thick and thin.
Repectfully, Roy. |

That's awful news, such a lovely bloke who was always so fair and helpful to me. That's terrible. I shall miss him greatly.
Are there any details of his funeral? |

Lovely guy who will be sadly missed by everyone. I was only speaking to him last week, then he was so chatty talking about old times and the future. RIP mate. |

Just had a phone call. He had a heart attack on the bridge at the Emirates on his way to watch his team. |

I Have written my thoughts on the New Forum but also feel that I should also speak on this one too.
I have known Chris over 30 years, as someone has already said he was one of the good guys, straight as a dye, no nonsense.
I have bought from him ever since he started the auctions and traded with him before that, always had time for everyone and as honest as the day is long.
He worked with me some time ago to assist me in valuing my collection for insurance purposes and spent a lot of time going through it all, he understood the hobby inside and out.
Chris will be sadly missed in the Hobby, but far more so by his devoted Family, such a shock at anytime and especially at this time of the year.
Life will be cruel, good people will go too early, there is no explanation, Chris is going to leave a very large hole in his Family and for us all too.
May his Dear Soul Rest in Peace _________________ Leslie Millman

So sad to hear the tragic news about Chris. A true gentleman & he will be sorely missed in this great hobby of ours. I would like to thank him for helping me fill gaps in my collection through his fantastic auctions.
My condolences go out to his family & friends at this sad time.

I only heard this news six hours ago and am still in a state of shock.
Chris was also very helpful to me, and I suspect he will be difficult to replace in the auction world.
Sincere condolences to his family. |
