Would anybody have any info regarding these 16 page paper publications produced in the late 40’s by Grant Hughes Ltd? Are they readily available or maybe sought after? Were they issued periodically or just one offs?

Each publication provides 14 head and shoulder photos of players from the era.

I don't know much about the history of these but I have something similar here which I use periodically for ID purposes.

This one isn't actually dated but on the back cover there's an advert by the publishers, Provincial Sport Publications of Southport, for another series of books called "Football Favourites", issue #4 of which will be published in March 1949.

This mag here has 16pp as follows:-

P2 - 9 x h/s photos & an advert for Provincial Sports
P3 & 4 - 12 x h/s
P5 - 4 x action
P6 - 12 x h/s
P7, 8, 9 & 10 - 3 x team photos on each page
P11 & 12 - 12 x h/s
P13 - 4 x action
P14 & 15 - 12 x h/s
P16 - large advert for Provincial



Looks like a different publication to yours entirely, using the same title. Interesting, never thought of this before and I've not seen the ones you have.

Mine definitely have a 'pirate programme' feel to them, in effect not an official publication. I think your images definitely look a little more professional.
