Just secured this superb photo from Ebay and it shows a Dundee squad from their 8-week tour of South Africa in May-July 1953.

For some reason, there are 12 kitted players - and no goalkeeper! Local rules perhaps? The only player I can ID myself is Billy Steel (back row, 4th left) so if anyone can help me with the others I'd be really grateful.

For info, they played 17 games, winning 15 and losing once, and scored 70 goals. I think this photo was taken in the Rand Stadium, Johannesburg as the stamp says Henry Jacobs photographer, Jo'burg - not to mention the handy advertising hoarding!

No keeper?.....perhaps they were playing “rush back” rules?

A fine feature on the 1953 tour is linked here. There are a number of players names mentioned that could help. It’s just a case of putting those names to the faces.
