Chelsea v CF Barcelona 1966 Fairs Cup postponed programme 20/4/66

Do many Chelsea collectors have this programme in their collections ?

I haven't been able to find a record of it in the Chelsea programme guides.

Hi,

I have never seen a programme for this date & as far as I know a programme was never produced. As you say none of the Chelsea programme guide list one for this particular date.

The match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch but I do not know if it was called off on the day of the game or the day before.

However Chelsea had 2 league games postponed earlier in the season against Sunderland on the 20th November & Blackburn on the 18th December and both had a programme issued for these dates. Both copies are extremely difficult to obtain. I have a Blackburn postponed in my collection but I am still looking for a Sunderland one.

It appears the match was called of due to a waterlogged pitch on the morning of the match (20 April 1966). This was due to have been the first leg. The 'second' leg played a week later on 27 April 1966 became the new first leg and the rearranged game at Stamford Bridge was finally played 11 May 1966. As both matches finished 2-0 to the home side a playoff was required on 25 May 1966, which Barcelona won 5-0.

I would have thought the EBay price was quite low for the rarity of the programme?
