I have several Scunthorpe United pull outs from the local paper. Wondering how best to store them. Any ideas? |

try amazon, e bay.....
acid free folders, envelopes & tissue paper. Resealable bags etc.....
Mine are laid flat in a PostPak box from the post office with some
acid free tissue paper
Just keep away from sunlight & heat. _________________ RESPECT..................

I use one of those art students' portfolio folders to keep my various football newspapers in.
It is ring-bound inside and extra plastic wallets can be bought to add extra papers.
And it zips up nicely for storage purposes. |

I've never kept mine in anything special, just bog-standard A4 clear plastic sleeves placed into a ring binder.
It stores & protects them more than sufficiently, so long as the binder/s aren't kept anywhere cold or damp (like a garage or an attic).
A normal / modern newspaper folded in half fits perfectly, as does the old broadsheet newspapers folded twice (in half, and then in half again).
All "folds" that are perfectly acceptable & normal for newspapers. _________________ NEWPORT COUNTY & GENERAL FOOTY BADGES:

I have a newspaper collection going back to the 1820s.
My advice is;
Keep them flat - avoid folds if you can, easier said than done.
Keep them out of the sun/excessive light.
Keep them at a stable temperature.
Keep them in the house, not the garage/shed/loft.
Keep them in plastic sleeves - archival if you can afford. Beware of leaking ink.
Reinforce/support thin sheets.
Newsprint/paper over the years hasn't been consistent quality. So those from the War era need more care than yesterdays tabloid, but the ink from yesterdays tabloid is more likely to leak than the issue celebrating Queen Victoria's birthday. |
