Sadly my Newport County stash for this coming season will be severely lacking compared to the previous couple of years, as Duncan Jardine will not be issuing match badges for our home games this season.

As disappointing as that is, I don't blame him to be honest, he's had a lot of hassle with suppliers, and the club themselves have been less than helpful with regards to him selling the buggers on a match day.
It's a disgrace really, given the hundreds of free hours that lad puts in for their benefit every season, and the tens of thousands of pounds he's selflessly raised for them over more years than I care to recall.

We've also lost Wimbledon to League One of course, so there's another nice yearly issue gone too, so it'll be slim pickings this season I fear.

Anyway, my selfish grumbling aside, I'm kicking off this year's thread with these two lovelies I picked up on eBay from a nice chap called "Dave From Brum."

They are for our upcoming League Cup tie with the Franchise team.
Fair do's, they are much nicer than my pic suggests, and I was very pleasantly surprised by their quality, they're certainly much better than I was expecting ... a resin-type insert on a weighty metal badge ...

After been in touch with Dean of the Mansfield SSA, I can confirm that they are once again producing Mansfield Town match day badges this season. They will be doing a 'new blue' badge and a 'new amber badge', £3 each.

Cheers Kyle, hopefully we'll have those lovely Blackpool badges to look forward too this season too.

We have Blackpool away in November.

Yeah and hopefully Accrington Stanley and Wycombe Wanderers will be producing them again this season.

On the Wycombe Wanderers trust website it says that they will be doing match day badges again this season which is good news, also found the artwork for the Wycombe v Bristol City League Cup match day badge

Not to sure on the design myself but I understand the need to change the design each season and keep it fresh.

Accrington Stanley

Always so good to see that the love of matchbadges spreads right across the divisions Easy

These won't be joining my stash I'm afraid.

Even a badge nut like myself draws the line at £25+ for three unofficial, non-enamel, low quality match badges in which they haven't even got the fixture correct (Newport were the 'home' team) ...

... not that I'm a badge snob, I love them all whatever their quality, but £3 each would be my max for this type of issue.

However when the seller expects almost eight bucks apiece, it's pointless even making a sensible offer.

Would be better if there was an option to buy just the one - don't want to feel you are forced to buy multiples of those.

The DavefromBrum seller is decent though - he made me some up for a game I needed badges for, and the ones with the League Cup metal shape on them look really good

Yes he's a great guy to deal with Dorking.

I never realised he would do "requests" though, thanks for that bit of info.

I've always wanted a match badge or two for our League Cup win at Brighton back in 2013, as that was a great night.

Cheers for the tip mate.

The metal base he used for your Newport-MK badges is season specific to 2016/17, but he can do 'requests' for other fixtures using his more standard badge template

In my case, Palace had got to the cup final but there was one round that I didn't have a badge for (at the time) and he was really helpful

I noticed this while badge hunting

I am not even going to pay over a fiver for a badge that has wrong day and year on it. The actual date was 1st August 2015.

Ah yes, of course, I hadn't thought of that.
That would present a problem obviously.

There are plenty of other games I'd quite like a badge for though, so I will still get in touch him I think, just in case he can help.

Thanks for pointing that out mate.

If you point out his error to him Kyle, he might let you have them for peanuts mate.

I did the same with a Reading v Newport badge a while back, and got it very cheaply.

Another interesting error badge to add to the collection for less than the price of a pint.

Here Wycombe Wanderers match day badge design for this season, same as the cup badge.

It's a bit "busy" that Wycombe design isn't it.

If the top circle was a neutral colour it'd look much better.

I'll still be getting my mitts on the County one though!

Am a bit of a novice with badges, and have had to shell out lots to get some Auchinleck Talbot match / season specific badges done in the past. Would love to get a much smaller run don, say maximum of 25 badges. Could the guy producing these be able to accommodate me? Otherwise, does anyone know of anyone else who could?
