Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool, Coventry City and Wrexham were the last ones to do what over Christmas, I'm sure some clever so and so on here will know the answer.

Blackburn played Blackpool and Cov played Wrexham on xmas day in the late 50s, then Blackburn played Blackpool again in the mid 60s on xmas day Sherlock

they were the last 2 English Football Lge games played on Xmas day, both were played on 25th December 1959, according to the Guardian website. But if you look on Wikipedia it says Blackburn also Blackpool on Xmas Day 1965.

Just checked, and Aberdeen (my club) played Hibs on Xmas Day 1965, which was a Saturday. In fact there were nine matches in Div 1 and nine in Div 2 - everyone played on Xmas day 1965!

Did some more digging and the same happened in 1971 all over Scotland, and in 1976 Clydebank played St. Mirren in 1st Division, and Alloa v Cowdenbeath in 2nd! So they are much later! Do I get a prize too? Clap
