After an enjoyable fair at Clayton Community Centre yesterday, I am now preparing for the Accrington Stanley Fair at their Social Club, Livingstone Road, BB5 5BX, this coming Sunday (11am-2pm).
Any collectors with specific requests, please contact me on email [email protected] or phone 07927-519019.

Just to say that once again today's fair at Accrington was a really worthwhile event - there were more collectors present today than there were, for instance, at the North Staffs fair last weekend, not that I'm complaining at all about the one at Clayton Community Centre. Incidently, you may not expect it, but I did 50% more sales than I did at Clayton.
There were a lot of genuine football fans present at both fairs - for me, one of the joys of being at fairs is to enjoy the company of such people, and hoping that in a small way I may be able to enhance their enjoyment of their hobby.
Also this fair is organised on behalf of the Accy Stanley Supporters Club's fund-raising efforts - I believe that one way or another they raised over £400 today towards their £30,000 target - every little helps - and I for one am delighted to support these very genuine football fans in their wholly admirable efforts to sustain their club.
I also think there's a better atmosphere at fairs organised at football grounds, than at other types of venues,
In the final analysis also, if there weren't clubs like Accrington Stanley, then there would not be clubs like Manchester United. Let's not forget Stanley were one of the twelve founder members of the Football League!

Yes Gordon I could not agree more with you except for the final comment re Manchester United, why single them out? or is it just an example being the UK's biggest club and probably the overall World's biggest club also perhaps?-only kidding as I know exactly what you mean. Don't also forget that although Accrington is just a small Lancashire Town and Manchester is a major city, United were dirt poor as Newton Heath and faced extinction until they were saved in 1902 and then 30 years later financial ruin came back to haunt them and again they were bailed out but of course since then times have changed, so my point is as a club it has not always been plain sailing.

Anyway, Accrington Stanley has not met Manchester United many times in their respective histories, so here is a poser for everyone-what game is this image referring too.....

I was unable to get there yesterday but went to the one before, nice little venue with some good people running it.
