Why do football stadiums have 4 sides ?

Went to watch Wigan v Barnsley as my daughter is a Wigan fan .

Waited till well after the final whistle for the Champions presentation in more than 30 degree heat only for the Wigan team to do a Man City supporters back to you celebration facing the Sky Sports photographers and main stand only .

One of the smallest players did make an attempt to turn round and face the Boston Stand but that was it -

Got a lovely tan though.

The two Barnsley defenders , especially the taller one , looked a different class , definitely above League 1 material - reminded me of Steve Walsh/Mick Baxter . I'd be snapping them up but what do i know ?

When Palace won a Divisional title in 1994, it was live on ITV (as they used to show what is now Championship games live) and they did it facing the main stand, and the tv gantry got nothing! An awkwards 2 or 3 minutes of cheering but they couldn't see anything as the back of the platform had huge adverts behind it blocking off everything for the tv viewers.

Sky aren't so stupid and make sure everything is perfect for the tv fan (and sod the fans in the ground)

Even the majority of Barnsley fans stayed for at least 10 minutes at the end but it just dragged on and on and on
I'm sure most fans had to catch trains & Buses etc .

Pity really, bit of a damp squib.

In 2014, I travelled to Molineux to watch Wolves play Carlisle. Carlisle were relegated to League Two that day and Wolves were League One Champions and in party mood. Me and the people I were with decided to do the respectable thing and watch them lift the trophy (and the only chance we get of seeing a trophy). We waited about 15 minutes of and decided to leave and once we got back to the coach we got a telling off from the driver because he wanted to get away. We still waited another 10 minutes before we had everyone and even they hadn't seen the trophy get lifted.
