I am within sight of completing my Blackpool LFAYC home and away programmes from the competition's inception in 1970/1 season.
However I do not have any information for matches played in 1973/4 and 1974/5.
Do any followers of Lancashire/North West clubs have any details of games your club played against Blackpool in this competition for these 2 seasons.
Failing that can any follower of a Lancashire/North West club confirm that your club definitely didn't play Blackpool in those seasons so that I can narrow it down a little. |

No Man U involvement v Blackpool but we did play Preston home and away in 1974-5 so it was close but not close enuff
It took 20 years in 1991 to finally get drawn against Blackpool.
Hope you get what you need, I can give you information from the Lancashire Leagues form 1954-5 to 1997-8 Blackpool v Man U and the other way round, let me know if u need anything. |

This might amuse you a bit
It is listed incorrectly in the United bible Ultimately United Reviewed
It is shown as a United home game but is actually a Blackpool home game
A Lancashire Senior Cup game played on 27-4-1949
A single sheet with multiple signatures aka Rocking horse ----
Feel free to take a scan if you want

Cheers Ray.
Don't worry I had already taken a scan for my records some time ago.
I have only come across this one on a couple of occasions and I still require it for the collection.
I am not sure where this came from but below is a scan of the front.
It is interesting that the game was recorded incorrectly in the book Ultimately United Reviewed.
Many years ago when I was trying to compile a definitive list of Blackpool's Lancashire Senior Cup matches, I actually had this recorded as a 2 leg semi final.
It was only when I acquired the book 'The Lancashire Cup - A Complete Record' that I discovered it was just the one leg.
For the record Blackpool won this semi 3-1 in front of just 3,586 spectators and then when on and lost to Rochdale in the final played at Oldham's Boundary Park ground. Typical Blackpool.

Right I have eliminated Manchester United as opponents for these 2 seasons, can I also eliminate one or two other clubs who have regular posters on here?
eg Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester City. |

Time to revist this one as there are now newer members on here who may be able to help.
I am after information for Blackpool matches in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup for seasons 1973/4 and 1974/5.
Do any followers of Lancashire/North West clubs have any details of games your club played against Blackpool in this competition for these 2 seasons.
Failing that, can any follower of a Lancashire/North West club confirm that your club definitely didn't play Blackpool in those seasons so that I can narrow it down a little.
I have already managed to eliminate Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers, with thanks to the members who posted above, but can anyone help to narrow it down further? |

I must have missed this thread first time, I can confirm that Manchester City did not play Blackpool in either of those seasons.
73/74 Beat Bolton 2-1 followed by defeat to Oldham by the same scoreline
74/75 Lost 2-1 to United. |
