Manchester Football club B team 1908

Found in a charity shop. Rugby not football I think. Can't make out shape of ball. Any ideas

i would agree it's rugby if for no other reason the number of players in the photo
Team photos outside a hotel or club house room this era usually are specific to a game so if it was football i would expect to see only 11 players

Yes definitely Rugby Wullie. Lack of a goalkeeping shirt is a dead give away.

Also that is a classic shape of Rugby ball for the period.

It is rugby union - the Manchester rugby club is/was called Manchester Football club.
