I have this really good 1930's Football weekly. It lists the top 100 clubs from England Scotland and Northern Ireland. It gives a brief history and honours won club by club in alphabetical order.

Does anyone know how long this publication went on for? This one is late 1930's

Does anyone else have other issues?

A bit of info here

http://www.soccerbilia.co.uk/acatalog/Football_Weekly_1936.html

A short lived publication and incorporated - like a number of weekly or monthly magazines were pre war - into the Sport Budget. Smile

Soccerbilia is a good website for football magazines produced over the years. Well worth a bookmark Wink

I take it I ask to many questions Paul Laughing but suppose it's better than lurking in the darkness and not asking anything to the forum? Very Happy

Okay cheers Paul.

Here's another of my inquisitive questions Confused

Regarding Brentford why did they change the font colour from yellow and blue in 1960/61 season to red and white by the 1963/64 season.

Here's two examples I have.

Did they change the kit colour or is it merely design by the printers.

Genuine question?

The Football Club changed its colours, from red and white to amber and blue, for just that one season - 1960-61.

It was to do with the number of times the team had to change their strip when playing away from GP the previous seasons. So, the Club decided to change the colours, hoping it wouldn't have change too often, if at all. However, it didn't quite work! The supporters didn't take to the change and the club had to still change when visiting a few clubs that season, so it was pointless!

The supporters liked the red and white, which the team had worn since 1925, and requested the Club returned to the traditional colours the following season, which they did.

The colours Amber, Gold & Navy Blue had been part of our earlier kits.

That's interesting I can imagine the supporter's in uproar! But at least it was done for a reason unlike Cardiff City which was at the whim of their owner!

Here are a few more 1930's magazines & booklets I've collected on my travels.

1935

Probably 1938

1935 again

Inside this you could collect & stick in 12 little roundel pictures of famous players of the time, such as Stan Cullis

Some great publications shown above with some lovely covers.
