Cumbria, North Lancashire and parts of Scotland (amongst other places) have taken a real battering this weekend with serious flooding and disruptions to power supplies and transport.

I fell really sorry for people who have been affected yet again despite river defences being upgraded since the last time.

On a football theme here is a view of Carlisle United's Brunton Park.

Porthmadog of the Cymru Alliance have had a few issues too as this pic from the Daily Post shows. Nice club, good people - amazingly they are confident this coming Saturday's game will go ahead!

New Road, Worcester, in 2007 - 6 weeks before the start of their season. And it's just as bad today, apparently, but not in the national news.

I don't know how I'd cope with something like this, all credit to those who do and my sympathy to everyone in that awful situation.

Thankfully our off-season, but, with Premier Division football next season not ideal for getting Finn Park the home of Finn Harps F.C. ready for the new season.
