While my collection boasts almost all of Tottenham's programmes since the war, home, way and friendlies etc. today I took delivery of one of the missing ones that really means something special to me personally.
Back in the 1977/78 season, I missed one game only - Blackburn away.
I had glandular fever and was not allowed to travel in case I infected the Supporters Club coach. For some reason, I never obtained a copy of the programme at the time and while I have always been aware of this missing one, have never added it to my collection. In recent months, I have started a business selling programmes and through that enhanced my own collection.
For the princely sum of less than a fiver, today I finally got it.
It is never going to be anywhere near the most valuable item in my collection, but I am one very happy bunny tonight.

Congratulations.

It's not always the most valuable item in the collection that means the most.

I to have emotional attachments to certain programmes which in themselves are not valuable to anyone else but mean a lot to me. They are almost all matches I attended as a kid with my Grandad they bring back the childhood memories of that day for me.

The first match I ever attended was Bradford City v Carlisle United in about 1963.
Nothing ever beats that first game and I still have that programme. Like hydemaine says, never going to be worth a lot, but priceless in my mind.

My first was Tottenham v Everton 1968 and at seven years old, I was hooked. I can still visualise my first sight of the green turf.

Mine was the 67/68 season City v United also 7years of age.
Not only the green turf but the colours of the shirts of sky blue and red that I had only seen in magazines and not live. Also the smells of the onions from burger vans and pipe smoke stick out in my mind. It's true the first time hooks you.

I've checked my 1950's stock for you, but to no avail.
I'll let you know if any turn up.
