Not sure if you've covered this topic previously, Fleetwood Town are launching their new E- programme today. Season ticket holders and registered members will be sent the match day programme via E-mail for free the day before each game. All other who use social media can get it sent to them on match days,( again free ).
A normal paper copy will be on match days for collectors @ £1.50.
I've not seen one close up but they don't look a patch on last seasons.
The club sites costs and the trend to read everything on line as the reasons for the change.
Details are on the club website today.

£1.50 is cheap.

Palace charge about £50 I think for the season for e-progs. Never been tempted, I have to have the real thing.

Well, we come down to the fundamentals of what a football programme is and why, for those under, say, 30 years of age, it has to be something tangible you can hold in your hand.

In these days when all you get is a squad listing of 40+ players with their shirt numbers against their name, what's the point of a programme?

It's not a programme (by definition) any longer - it's a souvenir.

I fear that it will only take one major club to say "no more paper programmes for us" and the whole edifice will come tumbling down.

And then where will we traditionalists stand...??

The E in E-programme will signify the End of me getting programmes. Although produced by my best mate, I've not looked at a copy of Heroes and Villains since it went digital.
Dinosaur and proud of it.
