Hamburg v Manchester United 1959 Friendly.

I have two versions to this friendly match from 12th August 1959.

Can anyone tell me why there's two different official programmes for the same match?

The Bill Foulkes version and the Matt Busby / Albert Quixhall one ?

Is one rarer than the other?

This was posted some years ago and Leslie confirmed that there were 3 issues
The two you have are both nice programmes but not rare the third one is

There were often 2 issues for Hamburg in those days with the official issue and the "Lupphardts" both produced for my own team's visits in 1977 for the Super Cup and the "Harbour Cup".

Indeed this appears to be quite common for West German clubs at that time to have 2 issues available.

Cologne in 1965, Frankfurt in 1972 and Stuttgart in 1980 all have 2 issue available for the visits of Liverpool.

"Die Blaue" was a feature of all games played at Munich for 75 years and was available at Liverpool's games there in 1967 (TSV Munich 1860), 1971, 1978, 1987 and 1981 (Bayern Munich). These were available alongside the club's apparent official issues, which begs the question which one is totally official?! I don't suppose it really matters as collectors will want every issue anyway. For years I was unaware of a second 4 page issue for the Frankfurt game. But with the advent of Ebay a lot of these 2nd copies have come to light.

This got out of hand though for our game at Dinamo Kiev in 2001 with 36 issues to collect!! That's 35 pirate issues!

But can anyone tell me if this is a Pirate or an alternative to the match day programme?

it was produced locally in Malta not official and easily obtained to my knowledge-maybe someone else knows more about it.

This on the other hand to my knowledge is the only one in existence from that game and even many of the locals had not seen one around either.
