I see blackpool have released 17 players

Pompey have released 9 players

Perhaps we could arrange a friendly match, but it have to be 5 a side, with rush goalie.........

I know there are a couple of Blackpool fans on here who maybe able to clarify a few things on this

I was reading about the 17 players being released today but the report said that Nile Ranger who has been AWOL since November the club decided to take up the extra year on his contract, so a guy who missed over half the season gets resigned but the players who were cobbled together and thrown to the wolves get released.

Rangers have a lot, out of contract in the summer, Havant & Waterlooville should send a scout to the play off tomorrow.

I presume Ranger has had the extra year of his contract taken up as a sort of revenge for going walkabout.

He will be on a pay as you play deal, and will never play for Blackpool again, so he can't really do anything for another year.

He would have to buy out his contract to play next season but if he does what other club will want to take a chance on him.

I can understand why a lot of the players have been released because they are not good enough even for League 1. But one or two could have done a decent job and I just wonder how major decisions can be made without a manager in place.

It going to be like deja vu with very few players signed on leading up to the start of the season, no proper management structure in place, few pre-season friendlies and possibly starting the season with a points deduction.

It is going to get a lot worse before it starts to get better. Crying or Very sad

I think we might struggle to get a 5-a-side team together at the moment.

That will take about £200 off their monthly wage bill.
Very Happy

County have released 15, whilst another two have refused terms and moved elsewhere - indeed we currently have a grand total of four players contracted for next season!!

I'm sure there's nothing to worry about though, not with Terry Butcher's impressive CV.

Apparently the big league two money I s at Oxford United this season...

Sercombe from Exeter and Allesandra from Plymouth already on the radar!

Ah well be interesting to see what we end up with the rebuild our challenge to escape this godforsaken league!

At least we still have a defence under contract...I expect Newport will be filled with Scots from the Little Black Book of Butcher...we tried that in the Championship............ and went down

Could be an interesting division - will be intrigued to see how Stevenage do if Sheringham is confirmed manager. Oxford looking like they are trying to build a team - which they consistently fail to do.
