One of the funnier moments of a totally depressing day.

The likelihood of starting next season with a minus number of points just accelerates the free fall of a once great club.

I think like a number of teams trying to chase the premiership dream has cost Blackpool dearly.

They're not the first team and sadly I don't see them being the last either.

Teams get near/to the Premier league and spend beyond their means or they get bought by owners who see being a premier league team owner as a status symbol but don't know how to run a football club and misuse funds.

The Blackpool case is one which I don't see ending any time soon, the fans and the owners are just to far apart and it has turned nasty and ugly on both sides, with the owners sending threatening texts and fans causing the stoppage of a game, there was also a clip I saw on youtube of some fan outside what I believe to be the owners home and a member of the Oysten family brandishing a gun and firing warning shots.

We've seen teams since the 90's drop out of the premier league and fall from grace, some harder than others and still trying to recover team like, Coventry, Sheffield United, Swindon, Blackpool, Leeds, Wolves, Birmingham, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Bolton, Wimbledon.

Even if you go back further in the 80's Millwall, Charlton used to be mainstays in the top flight and back even further to the 60's Preston, Blackpool used to be amongst the top teams.

Although with the problem isn't just confined to the teams falling out of the premier league, I mean when I first started to watch my local team Gillingham in the late 80's, there were league teams in Halifax, Hereford, Darlington, Maidstone, Chester, Scarborough, Grimsby, Lincoln Some of these teams are gone for good some have been resurrected way down the football pyramid but will unlikely grace league football again.

Spending beyond our means is one thing we will never see at Blackpool.

In our case I just wish we had spent a little of the Premiership money on strengthening the team and made investments in the club's infrastructure and on the training ground.

As it stands we have no legacy from that one season in the top division.

For info it would appear the match against Huddersfield will not be replayed but a decision on the points to be awarded and Blackpool's fate is unlikely to be decided anytime soon.

I can understand the supporters doing what they did, but maybe they should've left it until after the game? as many Huddersfield supporters turned up and also joined in the march about the Oysten's prior to the match. I wonder if the Town suporters can get compensation for entrance fee and travel costs from the FL?
I can see Blackpool getting a fine, but thats it IMO. Huddersfield getting the game awarded to them, 3-0, and the points too, so they finish above the Leeds!

It does seem as though the Oysten's used Blackpool's one year in the PL to partly line their own pockets. But they also upgraded Bloomfield Road, didn't they? I agree about rebuilding and funding the training ground and the academy too.

If the Oysten's are still owners come the beginning of 2015/16 season, Blackpool may once again struggle. The club need new owners, whether it's the supporters for a year or two, to get some stability, who can then sell on to a Blackpool fan with money - as Brentford FC did with Bees United and Matthew Benham.

Once again, best of luck and hope the 'Pool sort themselves out for the better.

ps What was the story re Mortensen's statue?

Cheers Paul.

I felt sorry for the Huddersfield fans coming across for an early kick off and then hanging around from just after half time to see if the game would continue or not.

I think they should all get their ticket money back at least.

The ground was being rebuilt before the Premier League windfall although other bits were done since. However some of the funding was from grants and some from other investment.

If we do have the same owners at the start of next season we will definitely struggle again unless they have a change of heart and make massive investment into the playing side.

Morty's statue was apparently removed in case of damage because it was to be used as a focal point for the protests with the laying of shirts, scarves etc.
