My apologies in advance, as I should be able to answer this myself, but can't. I've seen various articles on the differences of reprints versus the original programme but is there anything which positively identifies the original as opposed to any of the reprints.

I recently picked up this version. I've attached photo's of some of the more defining differences between the original and reprints that I am aware of :

The colour of the England V West Germany writing on the cover - this is the dark blue and not black.

The Red stripe on the cigarette packet on the back cover.

The two tone colour of the cigarette packet on the inside

The tie of the Earl Of Harewood.

The smell and colouring of the paper tell me this is old but it could be an old reprint.

Anyone tell from the pictures posted ? I didn't pay much for it so not bothered if it is a reprint. It's in mint condition ( seller says it was in the archives of a San Francisco newspaper ... Almost too good to be true and I know how they usually end up)

Thanks for the feedback all. I'll put it to the scale later when I get access to it.

Cheers.

This issue crops up quite often in the collecting world. Centre Spot has a good reference section you can check out:

Hi Texas Ranger, FYI there was yet another reprint published in conjunction with either the 2006 or 2010 World Cups, and was sold in WH Smiths newsagents in a plastic wrapper along with a DVD of the 1966 final. I believe this reprint was slightly smaller in size, so might be worth measuring your copy as well as weighing.
