Pretty sure it is Hungary Smile

The 94 means it could be from the England game 1999 first match after 1994 played there

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2914.....1558.l2649

Any other assistance welcome

Cheers

Peter

well i can confirm it is definitely Hungary but sadly nothing else on the front that tells me which game.

why do you think the 94 means the 1999 game ?

Looks a bity older than that. Also the ticket price of 30 Forint is about 8p (current exchange rate) so I'd guess it's much earlier than 90s.

Logic was that if the ticket had 94 in the centre then it was some kind of Stadium linked date thing and England didn't play there again until 1999

If the post re it being earlier is accurate then potentially it could be the 1953 game ...in that it can in a job lot which included the 1953 home match ticket also ( listed separately)...in which case I have probably under called the start price!!!

Be good to know for sure ....but thanks for the input

If you look at my Scotland website below, you'll see the ticket from our game in Hungary in 1960, and that was numbered 91.

If you look here http://www.rsssf.com/tablesh/hong-intres.html three matches after that makes it Poland.

If only the Népstadion ticket numbers referred only to national-team matches! Unfortunately they don't - they were used for Hungarian club domestic and European matches too, and even non-football events such as variety performances and other sporting events. I think this is a ticket from the early 1960s but it's a real challenge allocating matches to Népstadion ticket numbers - as is the case with many continental match tickets, one generally just has to hope the match details are written on the back!

another example.

Had this ticket not come with other effects from the same source it would have been nigh impossible to determine who what and where.

Nice ticket, Leslie, and one I've seen before on your flickr site but never anywhere else. Matters of identifying tickets for Népstadion tickets are further complicated by tickets in this style having been produced for the same matches as the other, more decorative style, but with completely different numbers. There is, it seems, no way to find out all the logic behind it all - just to do the hard yards collecting them!

By the way, guys, (and apologies for hi-jacking the thread) I do collect tickets from matches and events at the Népstadion, so if anyone has any, I'd be delighted to hear from you with the view to a cash or exchange deal. Fingers crossed!
