It was in yesterday's Indy but I can't see it online - Vic Groves (Orient & Arsenal) passed away recently, aged 82. Not only that but he was Perry's uncle which I didn't know till now. Here's photos of both of them - not surprising the uncle was better looking than his nephew!

He actually died a month or so ago. He was one of the few players that Arsenal lost contact with and they were in two minds whether to put a piece in yhe programme as they weren't 100% certain that he had passed away.

Vic isn't Perry's uncle, they are second cousins.

OK, here's the actual article, penned by the usual obituarist, Ivan Ponting. Yes, Vic died on 25th January.



That's probably too small to read so I've expanded the bit about Perry. Suppose Mr Ponting got his facts wrong.
