Curiously, both bidders seem to have a fair number of bid retractions in the last 6 months (8 and 12 respectively). At least, I think that is a fair number.

It could be me , but if the 2 are in it together.........

Both bid over £400, this scares off other bidders.....

Then one retracts his bid so the 2nd bidders gets the item for cost price + £1

I'm not certain but are you not allowed to retract bids with 12 hours to go till the end of bidding ? Still time for other bids. Finding a Chelsea 1960s/70s press photo is the equivalent of winning a decent amount on a scratch card. Quite a unique situation, two bidders with pots of money chasing the same items. Also , it's strange how many sellers of press photos live abroad. I had a few from Europe without a single problem. Just wonder how so many end up overseas ?

There a bloke in Sweden and a couple in Belgium - Lord knows where they get them all from, maybe there's a Euro hub of old football press photos lying in a silo somewhere. I'm trying to get as many as I can as some are badly described and categorised and also postage is high but not so bad pro rata when you buy a batch.

Fishy, I saw that Millwall v Tooting one and was speaking to the Millwall programme historian at the time it was going through. He uttered a few expletives when he was outbid!!
