Another fine obit & picture from the Indy about this tough old defender - the original "Chopper" maybe?

Didn't every club have one - before Ron Harris?

RIP Roy

Forget Harris this guy was prob the hardest tackling full-back or any other positional defending player who has ever or will ever set foot on a football field.

I saw him several times early 60s in games v Everton and his defending was without question fearful nobody but nobody got past this great defender.

Not only could Roy be a "nasty bit of stuff" but it should not be forgotten that he was a truly great full-back .
