During the big freeze in the early part of 1963 Jimmy Hill at Coventry and Stan Cullis at Wolves were looking for venues to keep there players fit and subsequently arranged a friendly in Cork. A subsequent friendly was arranged in Belfast a few weeks later.

I know of a programme for the first game but does anyone know if a programme was issued for the second game played at Celtic Park, Belfast?

I'm pretty sure no programme was produced for the game in Belfast. Certainly nothing known. the Cork one exists as you stated but it is quite rare.

I sold one for the game at Cork a couple of years ago for about £60 but I was a little wary as it looked just like a photocopy.

Never had any comeback on it though.

The original Coventry v Wolves has blue writing. Hard to tell from your scan but it looks black and white. It would sell for well into 3 figures I'd expect.

Cheers Gary.

I can't be totally sure but I think mine was black and white which is backed up by the scan I made at the time.

In the description I recall saying that I couldn't be certain that the programme was genuine and that it looked like a photocopy.

Nevertheless it attracted a number of bids and the buyer never got back to me to say he was unhappy with the purchase.
