Price Value Wanted for the following:

This souvenir programme for the silver jubilee of the football league, 1938. Clubs played friendly games to mark the occasion and used the same programme - with a special insert in the centre.

never seen it come up before.

Is it Gold in colour?

I've seen one of these advertised before for Everton vs Liverpool 1938 Football league Jubilee programme.

It doesnt have any club details on the front or dates but i seem to remember it being a completely gold cover with pictures on.

Its got loads of pictures on the front and says souvenir of the football league jubilee it was in on sale in an antiques shop by me costing £40 so will take another look tommorrow see if i can get any more clues.

Buy it. There'll be details of the game inside somewhere, and it's a real bargain at only £40.

West Ham United v Fulham 20th August 1938

Stick it away for a few years know.

You're now the possessor of a very rare programme, from one of the most collectable pre war clubs. The last Sportingold auction I went to pre war West Ham were regularly changing hands for £150 plus.

I've seen a Villa v West Brom Jubilee game programme sell for £130 at auction.

I have a 38/39 SUNDERLAND v BORO Jubilee Benevolent Fund prog and a 39/40 BORO v SUNDERLAND Jubilee Benevolent Fund prog within my collection. One has a gold cover and the other a green cover.

Does anybody else have a 39/40 issue or even heard of them?

20/8/38 away to Norwich City &
19/8/39 home to Norwich City

For the Jubilee 1888-1938 Southampton played two matches.

Portsmouth v Southampton dated 20/8/1938 - the golden programme 32 page programme with a harder cover plus a match insert.

the "return" match was played at southampton 19/8/1939 - the programme is Green again 32 pages and an outer cover but this time the match details were in the middle pages.

I have both programmes

I have a programme for a pre season friendly in aid of the Football League Silver Jubilee Players' Benevolent Fund.
Can anyone advise as to it's worth? I'm probably going to put it on eBay, but haven't a clue as to a starting price. It's not in mint condition or anything. My Dad cleared our all his old programmes years ago but for some reason kept this one.

Aldershot played Reading on 19 August 1939. It was a green covered issue and it does seem as if there was no return game.
