''The programme has been kept in a protective sleeve now approaching 90 years, therefore the condition is near perfect''

I would be interested to here people's thoughts on this one.

Does the size of the 1923 reprint included with the 2000 FA Cup Final programme differ from the size of the original?

If the answer is yes then it might be worth asking the seller for the exact size of the programme before placing any bids.

Looks like it is in a film front bag - I do not think they had those 90 years ago.

Seller's feedback - no football programmes on there, so it may be reprint or a naive seller.

Difficult to judge by the photos available. I have an original copy and a re-print and the differences that I have noticed are:-
1. The re-print is a lot cleaner and the pages are a lot whiter than the original.
2. The original is very slightly wider and very slightly longer than the re-print.
3. The reprint staples are a different size and in slightly different locations to that of the original copy.
4. The black and white photos on the original are a lot darker than the re-print, this also goes for the grey which is also darker on the original.
5. The red ribbon on the cover of the original is a lot darker than the re-print.
6. The orange on the ladies skirt/dress, towards the bottom right hand corner, is a lot fainter than on the original.
7. The blue shield on the cover is a very deep dark blue on the original whereas the shield on the re-print is a lot lighter.
8. The advert on the back page is a lot more darker in all its colours on the original than that of the re-print.
The re-print that I have I do not remember where I obtained. I do know that there are other re-prints available other than from the 2000 FA Cup Final, so I do not know the dimensions of all the re-prints that were ever produced. However there is marked on the bottom of the re-print back page 'Reproductions Wembley National Stadiums Limited 2000' so very probably from the 2000 Cup Final.
The dimensions of the original 1923 Cup Final are 185mm X 123mm.

Yes, the 90 year old protective bag got my attention too! If it seems too good to be true....

He knows it's "exceedingly rare" yet he doesn't know the result. Has he never heard of Google? The whole thing seems just too conveniently misleading.

I'm tempted to ask him if he is sure it is the 1978 reprint as I've been previously stitched up thinking I was buying the 1978 reprint when, in fact, the seller sent me the 2000 reprint that had been given away with the Cup Final programme from that year.

Very Happy

I am also impressed by his very reasonable postage charges !!

With it being in his family for 90 years I now make it 2068, I do hope Spurs have won the premier league by now but somehow I doubt it!

As far as I am aware there was no plastic before the 1950s that could be used as a sleeve
I also have the 1923 cup final also in a plastic sleeve but also have the West Ham hand book for that year and was told its worth more than the programme
I have owned both for nearly 50 years and are locked away from daylight

I noticed that as part of the Wembly tour they had no 1923 cup final programme on display

Both programme and handbook are for sale at right price

It is not without faults although the condition is superb for age.
That is a big dog ear on the bottom right.
