Alright there... I have myself struggled to find something apt for vertical display. I have bought a couple off EBay but they have been handmade and to be frank a pain in the posterior to put your badges into.
And because so few older badges have a butterfly fitting this means you have to fiddle about to make them not slope down while displayed within the frame.
Here is the best example of what you can find http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-X.....888wt_1179
Perhaps someone can be an entrepreneur and come up with something apt (and become a billionaire off the back of it?) |

Thanks Valky.
I don't need anything fancy, I was thinking of a normal pic frame with a piece of foam backing where you could cut holes to allow for the clips/clasps to be absorbed and the badges to sit flat. Make sense? _________________ https://www.flickr.com/photos/footballprogrammes/albums |

This is how I do mine - glass fronted display cases from craft stores which can be opening up easily and hung on the wall.... _________________ Crewe Alexandra FC Collector

My solution, a £6 frame out of Matalan, some backing foam (free) into which I cut slits with a sharp knife and slotted the badges in.

Many Thanks for the Kind Words
Got a lot more to add, probably about as much to go on that is on already-it's a life's work and not about just the rare or the expensive scarce items it is certainly for me about getting the right balance so the 50p train ticket or last week's programme or something from 100 years ago are all just as imortant items indivually as they are unfolding the story by bit, the history told in images-that is what i am trying to achieve. Lots of the post 1970 modern period has very few images uploadedon the site so far but i intend to concentrate these next few months uploading much more and bringing that period more up to date as well as including other older items as well of course.
to see the new items www.flickr.com/photos/manchesterunitedman1/ and to view the entire collection to date at one time then it is www.flickr.com/photos/manchesterunitedman1/sets |

Indeed. It's easy to concentrate on collecting rare old stuff and overlook everything new. Within our lifetimes, lots of stuff from now will be rare, so collecting the stuff from now is also important.
And who cares about value, some of my favourite bits aren't particularly valuable, they are just unusual, more attractive or rare. I love it when I put in a large bid on auctionsniper, yet win the item as the only bidder - sometimes its only myself seeing the beauty in an item! |
