Was there a programme or team sheet issued for the game at Hereford? I have never seen one and has been rumoured that nothing was issued?

I've been collecting Welsh Cup Finals and semis for donkeys and have the lion's share back to 47. I haven't ever heard of one either. I can remember going to the the replayed game at Cardiff well late in the season, not that many there as they had played in the league as well. Still it does not mean that it's a non-issue.I have Hereford issues for preliminary rounds v Pembroke and Merthyr in 72/3, and this was a Cup Final. There are some keen Cardiff collectors on here who might be more certain.

Hi Kevin, no there was definitely no programme. I was around at the time and Cardiff had to play 2 home legs of the final after the 1st one was annulled due to Hereford field an ineligible player, Peter Spiring I think. Strangely there was no issue for the game at Hereford but they did issue for a 'friendly' game against cardiff a week later in the Hereforshire Senior Cup Final which was an invitation event.

I categorically state there was no programme.

Tony

Thanks for clearing that up Tony. The attendance at Hereford was a healthy 3709 for the 3-3 draw on 18/5/76. It's odd that they never issued, and yet did for the 'friendly' on 15/5. Perhaps they were getting fed up of playing Cardiff that season?

Probably , we kept beating them in the end.
We won 2-0 at Cardiff in the League on April 14, attendance was 35000+!!
Drew 2-2 at Home in the game which was annulled on April 29
On May 15 we played in the HSC at Hereford and lost 0-2
On May 18 at Hereford of WCF drew 3-3 (was supposed to be the 2nd leg but now the 1st leg)
On May 19 2nt leg again at Cardiff of WCF won 3-2.

So we played 5 times in 5 weeks. Cardiff won 2 drew 2 and lost 1 gf 10 ga 9 . Tony Evans scored 4, Phil Dwyer 2, Campbell, Livermore, Clark and PEthard 1 each.

Loads of entertainment.
