I think this was 13-0 to Newcastle.

It was indeed 13-0 and it was said at the time that Len Shackleton commented that "Newport were lucky to get 0"

It should not go unnoticed however that Newport restored some dignity in June 1947 with a fine 4-2 home victory for One of there few home wins that season.
