Well january has nearly gone and the usual sounds come from the premier league...

The players are tired, too many matches for the top sides...

League,FAC, european.........'yawn'

Lower teams in a relegation battle would swop their cup run for premiership safety.

I' m not sure.......ask wigan

And to top it all arsenal are to charge between £60 to £90 for the cup match with liverpool.........still its a business and they are well run with few debts

It just appears the average supporter is taken for granted.......as usual

Mad Mad

January has gone and Sunderland are still involved in two cup competitions. No , something is definitely wrong here.

But would you take a cup win, a brilliant day out & relegation or
Lose both cup matches +
Keep your premiership place & barrowloads of money ?????
Cool Cool Cool Cool

Fact is, Wullie, you're unlikely to do either of them?

Exactly. No one puts a gun to peoples heads and forces them to buy a ticket, a shirt, a pie etc. Clubs will charge it whilst ever people are daft enough to pay it.

Exactly. Livepool fans (rightly) complaining about prices at Arsenal (and Man City fans last season?). surely a better protest would have been to leave the away section empty, Arsenal still pocketed their cash.

Interestingly, the EPL is not the most expensive league in Europe, Spain apparently is, yet I was at the Malaga v Valencia game two weeks ago and bought a ticket for £22.50.

After the Poland v Scotland game in March (£12) I'm going to the Wisla Krakow game, the most expensive (non VIP) ticket is £7 top tier over halfway line. Yeah I know economies of scale and all that, but still.

Re prices. Thing is Tynie, you and I probably watch the best level of non league football anywhere in the Scotland for a fiver or under? The top of the Junior game's clubs could probably live in Conference North / South, so it's a decent standard.

I can still go to Talbot (£5), have a programme (£1.50) seat in the stand (£0.50) pie at half time £1 and a 35mm scotch prior to the game (£1.60) and still have 40 pence change out of a tenner. That's amazing value in this day and age.

If I still have a club to support next season i'll be happy, having said that,if they screw me out of a Ramsden's cup final ticket,I won't re-new my season ticket.

People are quite happy to pay £50/£100 to watch a game of football. It's incredible to think when we are all supposed to be feeling the pinch in these troubled times (???) people find this sort of money. Not just football , check out the prices of a packed out show at the 02 for some crap comedian. Or a summer rock concert. I think people on the whole are very well off in this country , they just like to moan if the price of gas goes up a few quid.

It must be the time of year, Yes semi finals of the League Cup in Scotland, Aberdeen v St Johnstone on tomorrow, and Caley v Hearts on Sunday at 12.15. In Edinburgh. So what's wrong with that you ask, Nothing for first game. Caley v Hearts well you can't get to Edinburgh by bus or train for that kick off time, and the other little matter is going down the A9 at this time of year, as I write this it has just been opened after 2 jack knifed lorries blocked both carriageways after horrendous blizzards today, with the same forecast for tomorrow, Deep Joy. After waiting 3 months to play the Semis how could they not be played on 2 separate Saturdays or is that to much to ask.Bloody TV. I know a few Caley fans going down the night before but I will go on Sunday and if roads bad I will be staying home even though I have our tickets bought. Not all Jambos stay in Edinburgh there's lots up here. Happiness is being a Jambo.
