Sadly this weekend marks the end of the Football Echo (Sunderland) after 106 years. I always remember waiting for the bus after a game in the town. It was always a race to see what would arrive first, the Football Echo to the bloke selling it next to the bus stop or the bus itself.
The Echo almost always won. It's very sad to see it disappear .

Sad news, i used to just love The Sporting Star Football Pink (Wolerhampton) come hail rain or shine i would always waite for one of these after the game ,was a great read on train back home to Liverpool in the day and ofcause if you did not obtaine one of these it was unlikly you could find out the results of games played that day.
Still have quite a few of these in my collection and i am allways looking to add to them ?.

Well technically it still is available , only online for free. The world is changing. A sign of the times.

The Newport (South Wales) Footy Argus ceased in the late 80s.

It's probably my most missed thing from my youth, apart from my looks.
