I can see the headline now for two of England's Group matches:

"Suarez breaks England hearts"

"Oviedo breaks England hearts"

It's going to be hard, with the heat out there I think we'll need to be brave and that means use the older players in one half perhaps.

Apart from that we are not good enough at the moment so we need to find a way of playing and I guess a fair bit of luck too.

One things for sure it won't make it easier by being negative toward our chances. Let's all enjoy it for what it is.

I presume kickoff3pm's post re being negative about England's chances are aimed at you silkman.

Really if you can't out ten past that German team in the final you've no business going. Very Happy

My original post was made against the background that both players play in the Premier League and so have a detailed knowledge of playing regularly against players who will be in the England squad.

Despite that I will behind England all the way and hope they can go all the way to the Final.

I think we could do well providing the "big" players dont get injured in May like usual. England will get out the Group for sure if Rooney, Gerrard, Studdidge, Townsend, & even Barkley are on that plane Wink

Who's going to do their metatarsal next spring? Very Happy

Seriously though, if we're going to have any chance, we need to learn to be better at keeping possession than we normally are. In hot conditions, we can't be chasing after the ball for long periods of play, it's just too draining. What normally happens is after a few passes, someone panics and hoofs it long or tries an over-ambitious pass and then we lose the ball. We need to keep possession and make the opposition chase for the ball.
