Yes, 20/20 matches but problem is generally only Commonwealth countries play. However, with 20/20 format, global popularity is increasing so more countries might start playing pyjama cricket.

Yes, GB beat France in the final, in Paris 1900. When I say "France", it was British expats working in Paris. The only other competing teams, Belgium & Holland, had pulled out. The British team was a club side.

In other words, the competition was a joke.

Maybe the 2013-4 England team down under might have won a gold medal here, although that's doubtful.

Golf, tennis, rugby sevens, baseball.......

None of them should be in there, nor should cricket, but if those are then why not?

Agreed, none of them should be there. It's already a farce, no point making it a bigger one to the point it bankrupts countries.

I don't see why not,any sport should be considered but a major sport like cricket has good claims for a place in the Olyimpics.

It's moving further away from the values of which it was intended, I guess the inclusion of highly paid tennis stars and basketball players put paid to that Olympian ideal.

Plus the more sports you add, the bigger it gets, the more money it costs. It's already obscene the amount of money which is required to host it, and build facilities that are hardly used afterwards (see Athens for an example, or even Londons stadium).

If the Olympics is not the peak of your particular sport, then it should not be in it.

I agree that it was better when it was entirely amateur but it is must be hard to take when you are giving your best years and not making a living from it until you retire. You don't have to bar the sport to stop highly paid sportsmen/women from competing.

Athletics
Cycling
Fencing
Gymnastics
Shooting
Swimming
Weight Lifting
Wrestling

Dangerman, that's like saying the British play Aussie Rules football. I'm sure there are about 3 teams here somewhere, like cricket in the USA.

I do wish they'd go back to calling the British team "Great Britain" and ditch the ghastly "Team UK" epithet.

Or maybe I'm just out of touch with the modern world. Yep - that's more likely.

Brazil have got the World Cup AND the Olympics?

How did they swing that, then?
