Stoke v Man Utd 47/8

I have two copies of this programme with slightly different covers. One of the covers is made of slightly thicker paper and is a bit lighter in colour which suggests that it may be a copy though it smells old enough! The cover on the other one is made of the same flimsy paper as the rest of the programme.

Can any Stoke or Man Utd collectors assist?

a few clubs in the 40s and 50s printed director copies which had a stiffer cover, dont know if this is the case with Stoke though, a few clubs early post war years used what paper they could get their hands on as it was in short supply. I have seen Plymouth 46/7 issues in many different colours.

I don't think I've ever come across a Stoke programme from that era that isn't printed on low quality paper with a fimsy cover.

I have all Stoke homes from that season, so I'll check them later.

I've checked all my homes from 47/8 and all are printed on low quality paper with a flimsy cover. The design of the cover changed form March 20 1948 v Sunderland to the same design that was then used in 48/9

Many thanks for your feedback. Guess it's still inconclusive though I prefer to think of it as a very rare VIP issue!
