Well my question is are you staying on once you get your information.
As people who want free valuations join and then we dont see them again.

Are you one of them ? Cool..

Its £50 on a good day If you are a cockney double it....

Welcome to the forum.
The valuation of £50 is spot on assuming in good condition. On a bad day a tenner less on a good day a tenner more.

It's getting ridiculous, so what if a newbie just wants a valuation.

Hi, Welcome to the forum.

Hopefully your enjoyment of this forum will not be tainted by the initial reply. Like all forums there is a mixture of personalities.

I may be interested in the Christmas Day programmes. If you can let me know which matches they are we can take it from there.

Thanks, Martin

What is with you Bazza?

Confused

If the guy had been offering some WBA rarities you'd have PM'd him like a shot and welcomed the newbie with open arms.

I want to encourage people into the forum for whatever reasons they've stumbled upon it or whatever their motives, K**chen sales aside.

IB2013 - enjoy.

It can only be hoped, Bazza, that when you got that much vaunted Watford collection from ebay at a BIN price, that you gave the vendor a fair price based on market value for all the extras you negotiated? Laughing

Taffy I paid what the vendor what he wanted, Im sure if a punter offered you some programmes at £50, and they were worth thousands you would give him more wouldnt you.. NOT

DSS Yorkshire this is a programme forum not a free valuation service.

Looks like the poster has left us already after he got his FREE VALUATION.

Whats is it with all these pop ups anyway.. Shocked

I think that's where you and I may differ Bazza. I have always tried to give what I thought to be a reasonable market value for programmes as that's the way I've always done it. Nothing more, nothing less, and I'm not trying to take the moral high ground on the issue.

You got a great deal on the Watford programmes, and it's always nice when that happens, and I accept that BIN is far different to buying collections. The fact that the bloke was wanting an evaluation wasn't hidden, and I don't have any problem with that.

I picked up some really nice Rugby Union stuff a few years back, and realised it was obviously collectable, so contacted the largest dealer in the UK to see if he could offer some advice on it - only if I was prepared to pay was the reply, which I thought was crass of him. He'd probably have been offered them had he given me a valuation, and then said, I'd give you XYZ for them, but there you go.

Is it a Midlands thingy, as most folk don't seem to have a problem with giving valuations or sharing their knowledge - including your good self at times too! Wink

I have been in this game for over 35 years and time wasters get on my TITS.. I must have a dozen or so people a week wanting to sell their collections Shake But really they want a FREE VALUATION for insurance purposes or use you as a bench mark to sell on to other dealers or auction houses.

Its not a Midland thing you will find Robert Adcock will outbid most people at Auctions and only last year i paid £21,000 for a collection.
So dont brand all Midlanders as thick, we are shrewd and we usually get what we want.
Playing dumb and being dumb are two different things,

Sharrowblade, do you think there's a Midlands equivalent of the old Yorskshire saying?

"Yorkshire born and Yorkshire bred, strong in t'arm, thick in t'head"

I think we should know......

How about you ignore the requests on here then and not waste your time, rather than being rude and unwelcoming?

Seems fairly straightforward, they aren't asking you personally.
