Hi Auchinleckian,

I really think that you are onto something here with this programme swapping. Nod
It makes you think - why do we not see transparent programme swapping transactions taking place regularly here in this forum ?
Surely swapping would be the perfect way to increase your collection and rid yourself of unwanted items such as duplicates etc.

Unfortunately for me, I don't think I have anything that you require from your list, but I will be double checking soon.

Great idea though and good work encouraging others to join in Clap !

Bye for now.

I love a good swap but they can be difficult to find.

John you have some great items that I would love to swap but unfortunately I don't have anything which you would be keen on.

As soon as I do, I'll let you know.

Yet another outdated way of acquiring programmes by the more mature collectors.

Sell the ones you don't want, use the money to buy the ones you do. Simple. Especially when what you are looking for is either hard to find or valuable.

Ha, not overly. Don't get me wrong, swapping is great, and I've done so many times on penny items etc, but for the kind of things John has, and the items he is after, it just doesn't' stack up for me.

Like I said, Ebay that lot and a pretty penny is in hand to buy, via the same channel or others, something to replace what he doesn't want with items he does. It's the way of "the good old days" as I've said elsewhere.

Pablo, outdated? Moi?

Ebay has it's attractions, especially for the buyer, but for sellers it's never quite just the same is it? I recycle most things - envelopes (especially unfranked ones, much to Wullie's annoyance) kitchen waste, tins, bottles, clothing, and compost a huge amount of degradable foodstuffs. It makes sense.

My "problem" is that I'm not a specific one per club collector. I take notions and collect certain genres of programmes for maybe a few years and then move on to something else. It keeps the collection growing, but it does mean I'm not chasing single elusive items that I might have to remortgage the house for.

Most people, if they purchase at auction, might purchase an odd collection or two with just a couple of programmes they actually need. So yes, it is the more mature collector that I'm angling at - can't help that if I don't take much after the 1970-1 season in any genre - but I don't apologise for that. To me it makes sense to swap like for like.

Please note, due to an influx of Edwardian Scottish Junior memorabilia coming online on ebay tonight am now selling these items to fund the purchase of the items I need from ebay.
