Another piece of treasure acquired today.

2 Everton players around 1911 or 1912, Walter Holbem (left) and Frank Bradshaw. The narrative on reverse (hand-written) says they were 2 ex Sheffield Wednesday players - I see that Holbem was signed from Wednesday but Bradshaw was from Northampton although he was born in Sheffield so maybe played for them earlier in his career. Both were signed in 1911 and Holbem wasn't there long. Size 8 x 5.75" and is entirely original.

A glorious photo, over 100 years old.

Frank Bradshaw played 87 times for Sheffield Wednesday and scored 37 goals between 1905 and 1909.

He then appears to have gone to Northampton but there is no information about his time there.

Information taken from 'Football League Players' Records 1888 to 1939 by Michael Joyce.

Fantastic book but you need a magnifying glass to read it.

Bispham, would you please look up Holbem to see if it's Holbem or Holbein? The writing is all joined up so you can't tell from that, and one of their websites spells it both ways!
Thank you.

Hi Pete

It is Walter HOLBEM according to the book - he made just 18 appearances for Everton.
