Hi can anyone help identify who the teams are...im sort of guessing maybe Brentford and Luton ??

Hi Kenners
Scan the photo and save to a folder
Hit "upload picture"
"Browse" and select the scan from whichever folder you put it in
"Send"
Click "standard"
Job done

The stand looks more like the old Bobbers stand at Kenilworth Road before seats were installed, the depth looks similar and also the chimney pots look to be about right.

So could be Luton v Brentford (if it's them) any season from 47/8 to 53/4, they were in Div 2 together then.

Its just blank, Its the size of a postcard not even sure where it came from but I found it in an old box of Palace programmes ive got which have been in the loft for past few years.
If you are going on Saturday I could bring it along for you to view. ?

Is the number 9 Len Shackleton Sunderland ?

It could only be Sunderland if it's 55-6 or after as Luton were Div 2 till then and Sunderland were always Div 1. Could be post then I suppose. Or they may have played in the Cup?

Before 55-6 it could be Brentford, Lincoln, Sheff Utd, Southampton or even blue & white stripes at a pinch - WBA, Sheff Wed, Huddersfield.

Research has revealed the following:-

Luton v Brentford, 25.4.53. Brentford no 9 is Billy Dare. Luton no 5 is probably Terry Kelly and no 6 either Wally Shanks or Reg Pearce.
Result 0-1 - and Luton finished third and Brentford just avoided relegation. So it was quite a big game hence the packed crowd.
