This one is listed in the forthcoming FSA auction at a tidy £3500-4000, with token removed.
Why would the token have been removed when the programme was, officially at least, supposed to have been pulped?

Good question. But surely the token number of the next game would be the same as the postponed programme, as the postponed programme officially does not exist. You would have thought a costly mistake, but because of the rarity , obviously not.

It was removed so it could be pasted on the token sheet to get the required number needed for a Cup Final Semi and eventual Final ticket.
It was not considered a special item then as only a few were saved from the incinerator, it had the all important token printed inside which meant if you were one short your chances of getting a ticket may be reduced as the club asked supporters with x number to que first then it got reduced pro-rata and you hoped that when everyone who had been called for a ticket, there were some left for those with the minimum number of tokens stuck onto the official sheet-hope this helps.
