Struggling to find this issue to complete my collection.

Can someone tell me the date of the programme that this was issued within - maybe by attacking from that direction, I will have more luck.

Also, which team was on the colour photo in the middle.
Thanks.

You and me both, Boroflag.

Think you've bought League Reviews off me on Ebay, so thanks for that.

There are some numbers within the 366 which seem notoriously difficult to find, especially these last 20 in 74/75 when I imagine the number of clubs including the magazine was reducing or had reduced down.

I'm assuming that the print runs were lower as a result, even before history started to commit them to the bin?

The 1st league weekend of the 74/75 season (part of Clough's 44 days at Leeds) was 17th August.

Working forward, the 20th weekend was 28th December.

Of course, that means that there was probably a full league programme of fixtures on Boxing Day the 26th, so the 20th issue might have been produced for that day???

Hope that helps.

nice guide Goalsandwickets - a very interesting read.

I am a collector of these too.

I am down to just needing five issues:

Volume 1, Number 4
Volume 1, Number 11
Volume 3, Number 24
Volume 9, Number 17
Volume 8, Number 20

I have a couple of queries that I am hoping someone can help resolve - I have an issue which looks like it is from Volume 4, but it has no number on the back. I am guessing it is Number 34 - it has Jimmy Melia playing for Aldershot on the front page, and Alan Ball on the back page.

Also - I have a Football League Review which has no mention of which Volume or Issue it is. The cover looks like it is from Volume 2, but on closer inspection, the contents look like the format from Volume 1, and there is mention inside of 'approaching Easter in the 1966/67 season'. Throughout the issue there are blank spaces were adverts should be, and a price for how much it would cost to buy that space - I am wondering if it some kind of prototype?

I think you are right on the Jimmy Melia one, it seems to fit in the right time-scale, I have called it 434 for filing purposes.
Re your wants, I have Vol 1 No 4 (I presume you mean FLR and not Soccer Review),Vol 3 No 24 & Vol 8 No 20(820) with Stuart Lee on the back. If you would like to make me a reasonable offer please send a P.M.

Hi,
I've sparked some interest here.

The one with Alan Ball on the back is indeed 434.

All 39 of My Vol 2s have a number on the front - the design of the cover changed on 6th Jan.

The cover of this un-numbered one is different in that it has a 'split frame' from any of my Vol 2s.
Also saying "Page 8" is different in that other issues (Vol1-4) that I have looked at only have the number.

Also "Guest Spot" is not a feature I have so far found.

Looks like it may be a prototype, as you guess.

I don't have many spares, and I am afraid none of the above are amongst what I do have.

I am led to believe that issue 920 cover has Gerry Francis in action for England v Czechslovakia, Soccer homes (Man City), Oldham team (centre spread), Phil Thompson (Liverpool) , inside back Rotherham team , back cover Brian Stubbs Notts County.

Thanks Steve - Thanks Whoj.

Hopefully, that should help narrow it down a bit.

I repeat the issue of the 26th December and the 28th December as mentioned in my post above.

We know the dates but do we know which date the magazine was issued on?

On the subject I have some numbered 40A, 40B, 40C,50B,60A,60B and 80B.
Were these the early issues?
Thanks in advance.

Albion,
These preceded the numbers. For example the sequence went 40A,40B,40C,40D,401,402 ETC.
Some seasons merely had A and B.
By the way if anyone needs some of these to complete their 'set' pm me, I collect these myself but have many 'seconds'.
A useful thing to know, for those seeking to complete their collection would be to know which clubs actually included them in their programmes.
It seems that the reason for it's demise was that clubs stopped subscribing to it.
I remember Birmingham City including it in 71/2 as I was living in the area and went to matches and noticed the terraces strewn with them after the game!. Confused
However I know that by 74/5 they weren't being included in the programme.
