Yes, in hindsight, this welcome (with a suitable amount of earnest gravitas) to our proposed "saviour" seems ironic at best.

Any other "in hindsight" insights from your club's programmes..??!

An interesting article about Maxwell's time at the club.

I have an example. My rugby club - Wakefield RFC were 'bought out' by Bradford Bulls at the turn of the Millenium. The Bulls were World Champions, top of the SuperLeaugue, drawing in 20,000 plus crowds with a squad packed with talent.

Wakefield on the other hand were financially close to the brink, 200 or so hardy souls watching a team struggling to avoid relegation from the Second Division of the English Rugby Union league structure.

The Bulls were to move Wakefield's rugby union team into a revamped Odsal, loan them players with the aim of making it into the Rugby Union Premiership and all the financial benefits that would bring.

In reality we were loaned four squad players and a year later the deal was called off - no one knows why.

Four years later Wakefield went bust Crying or Very sad

Fast forward ten years and the Bulls were in administration and close to ceasing to exist themselves

Sorry tales for both clubs. Confused

Tim Howard on the front cover of yesterday's Everton v Reading programme - 210 consecutive appearances (2 shy of Neville Southall's record of 212 consecutive league appearances) and he fails a fitness test and misses out on that record.
