THE WAY WE WERE..................

Looking through some old official paperwork re MUFC, it was not always a bed of RED roses for the club financially. Yes today the Glazer family has and is taking tons of cash out to line their pockets, we all know this but there were times when MU had not got the pot to piss in! and again this is well documented too as they came close to extinction in the early 1930's and just escaped the threat of a drop out of the second division which had it happened could have finished them off once and for all, at that time MCFC was the dominant club in Manchester doing well and many of the City fans of the last 40 years have roots to family who followed the Blues in their good days Pre-War, so this is a new thread asking for any members to sort through what they have and to show us all their clubs's fortunes over the years say up to the end of the 1960's to get a good perspective.

I am showing some official MU paperwork showing their empty pocket status in trying to get cash in for season tickets and when you consider it cost seven pounds and seven shillings[£7.35 or so] to get 3 adult season tickets for United in 1934 you can see how things have changed.

So what have you got?, once there is some activity besides me i will pop up again, it is not a Man U thread it is for anyone to come in.
