I have mailed pafcprogs about another issue regarding Plymouth for the 84/85 season but I thought I would open this up to the board.

Torquay United were due to play Plymouth in a friendly on 21st August 1984. The game was called off for whatever reason and an away fixture with Kingsteignton was put in its place on the same day instead. The Plymouth game was never rearranged.

My question is, so close to a game, no doubt a programme was possibly made. Does any one have any info if this possible programme exists? With no match played, I doubt it is in the public domain but maybe, just maybe it is out there somewhere.

Any info will be greatfully recieved.

I do not believe that a programme was produced for the game. I do not have it in my collection and it is not listed in an extensive list that I have been given to me for all of Torquay's friendlies since 1927. Of course this does not mean that nothing was produced and has escaped and is now in the public domain. If you find out anything different please let me know.

Indeed. Perhaps the initial Plymouth game WAS a quickly arranged one perhaps in the first instance, hence no record of a programme.

However, like we both said, maybe, just maybe! I will definitly come back to you one day if I ever find out it WAS made.

I would be very interested in the list of all friendlies since 1927, is it something you could mail or send to me? Some damn good research there. One of my streams of collecting will probably be friendlies.

Back to the original topic. TUFC played at Plymouth in a behind closed doors friendly later the same season too.

Hi

there is no record of either game on greens on Screen which is pretty comprehensive so I would be surprised if there was a programme. In those days Plymouth produced pretty skimpy four pager photocopied style programmes so I doubt they would have done anything more than that for either game.

I will do the rounds of my Plymouth contacts but I think it is unlikely anything exists

Peter

Most Plymouth post 1959 but plenty of others including reserves, friendlies, Cup Finals Internationals and Club issues, handbooks and other sports.
