Hi

The fair at Accrington Stanley is indeed on Sunday 7th October 2012. It runs from 11.00am until 2.00pm, and admission is free. I am hoping to have at least ten dealers there. I am still looking for three dealers, so any advice please contact me on [email protected]
Present at the fair will be some of the 1961/62 Accrington Stanley team. We wil be running a free raffle for a Football League match worn Stanley shirt. The event is being sponsored by Clayton Park Pies who are donating pies for us to give away with our compliments. There will also be a pay bar. We would like this to an annual event, so please come along, you are more than welcome.

Hello Derek

I have eight dealers attending to date. Ideally I would like to see ten dealers on the day. Thank you for your interest.

Kind regards

Tony Allan

Looking forward to this one immensely, especially if someone comes in wishing to sell a collection of old Stanley programmes! Have decided to go down the night before as the Swallow Hotel near Preston have got a good deal on, and the wife and I have got 2 nights, dinner, bed and breakfast for £130 (this is the Hotel where the Greater Lancashire Fair takes place in the springtime)

Any of the usual suspects from the north west going to the fair? Look forward to seeing you there if you are.

Hello

I am sorry that there was nothing there for you, but thanks for coming along. Indeed I would like to thank everyone who came to the fair, and the dealers who brought along some truly amazing programmes/memorabilia.

A big thank you to the Accrington Stanley players of 1961/62, Mike Ferguson, Alex Smith and Russ Cuddihy, who signed autographs, posed for photographs, and chatted to one and all.

The event was sponsored by Cayton Park Pies, who donated numerous pies and cakes, which we were happy to give to everyone present with our compliments. They went down well let me tell you!

All of the dealers told me that they had enjoyed the day, and would like to attend again if I was to run another fair, as did many of the customers. I will happily run another fair next year, and once again, a big thank you to you all.

For a first fair it was a good effort, and the pies were great! Managed to pick a few things up, including 750 x 1960's programmes, which I still don't understand why I bought them! That now means I've got 2,000 x 1960's programmes to get rid of somehow. Auction methinks.

Meeting the old Stanley players was nice, and I got a couple of Stanley books signed by them for posterity's sake. Had a really good crack with a lot of those attending, and like the Grimsby Fair the week previously, it was a very friendly occasions. Long may they continue.

a box of 1000-2000 1960s just sold at Football Sports Auction for £300 but several smaller lots of 1960s went for nearer £50-£60 per 100 so still some appetite for job lots

The guy wanted £50 for them. Have just been sifting through them all and thrown about 50 out that were punch holed or had writing on the cover. Knew I wouldn't lose on them, it's just the humping them back up to Scotland and then finding room for them until able to sell them.
