Hi there, has anyone had any recent dealings with Cameo Auctioneers and if so any problems or issues with them?
Many thanks

Thanks for that. I was more wondering if anyone has sold anything through their auctions and had any issues?

Yes I have had a very bad experience with them as a seller. Sinply put they do not pay out and make every excuse under the sun not to pay. They were meant to have paid me after 35 days and I finally received funds after 64 days after much pressure. Many other people have had the same experience. They are a complete shambles.

Hi there, thanks for that.
Yes I'm finding the whole experience a disaster too to be honest. I've purchased from their auctions loads of times before without any issue however selling through them appears to be a different matter entirely.
It is very hard to get through to speak to anyone, they don't return calls or respond to emails, customer service is horrific and they have promised my money is on its way a number of times now but still nothing - ive now been told it will be next week (apprx 50 working days even accounting for a two week Christmas break.
I would advise caution to anyone selling through them at the moment.

If I were you I would threaten legal action. They treat people with contempt and think they can get away with it. There are so many people who share my experience. When you do finally get paid check your statement as they wanted to charge me 10% for unsolds. There is nothing in the terms of business to indicate that they should do this. It might also be worthwhile speaking to the local Office for Fair Trading which I think is based in Reading.

Hi again, thanks for the tip. I spoke to someone there again today who assured me I would have the payment by Wednesday of next week. I know they've said this a few times now, however i'll give them the benefit of the doubt until then.
If not, thanks, i'll take up your advice. Whatever happens its been a really shoddy experience with Cameo.
I'll post the outcome or further developments on here......
Cheers

I heard of another 2 vendors both receiving cheques one was undated and the other was lacking words. To cap it all when I got home yesterday I picked up a card from the Post Office saying that the sender had left off a stamp and there was postage due. I went tio the Post Office and collected the item and it turned out to be the catalogue for the Cameo auction which took place on the 21st Feb which was posted on the same date !!!! I wonder how long they can keep going.

I have always found the communication to be ok, but also received the catalogue on day of auction. Subsequently missed out on fa rule books from 1890s. The auction on the website wasn't advertised as a sports auction...big mistake.

Yes I was just doing a search and found compaints here about Cameo. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. They owe me money as a seller and I have had to resort to Legal Action - It appears from my research they do this all the time and deserve to be shut down. They also sold goods I just put in for valuation. MY ADVICE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Do not hold your breath, we have gone through Small Claims Court and still do not have our money. Cameo are just fraudulent Crooks, I do not intend to let this go, I have contacted BBC, Rip Off Britain and suggest as many of you as possible also contact them to share your experiences of these crooks. I intend to get police involved now as this is fraud and I will also be using local press to raise awareness and stop people doing any further business wth them. Do not deal with them as they will not exist for much longer.

Surprise surprise, no phone call!!! Have now sent a letter threatening court action, dont know whether I shall get any where, we shall see. Also written to the BBC, and contacted trading standards down there.
According to the Sherrifs on BBC 1, you can go the high court and get a writ which they will serve, they have more power than the Bailiffs, and they cannot stop them from entering the building and seizing goods.
