Boro concluded their 1977 Australian tour with a visit to Perth to play Western Australia on June 12th. They managed to win 3-1 to remain unbeaten on the tour.

The final game of the BOAC Series in the summer of 65.

United triumph 2-1 in the final game of the series (6-4 on games) and take home £1000.

Originally, the players from both sides had allegedly agreed amongst themselves to draw the series, but Blackpool had become a little over zealous in the first match and after that it became a more serious affair.

Last game of the season for both clubs. Not including this season, must be a contender for latest competitive league issue of a season - unless anyone knows different!

Sheffield United v Stoke City, Division 1

Not an outright winner for the date in a domestic season but certainly the most important as it was the match that determined the destiny of the League Champions.

Stoke arrived at Bramall Lane needing only to win to be League Champions, United scored early and then Stoke equalized, but Stoke hadn't played for a number of weeks whereas United had been playing regularly, and in the end the pressure told and United ran out deservedly 2-1 winners

All of which meant Liverpool were champions.
