The problem as i see it Kick off there are Not fewer programmes on the market. I probably think there were more programmes printed for this game, a local derby than others that season. Now if it is on the internet, ebay or dealers lists in general people are asking £60 as a starting price. That is because over the years the've created a monopoly by holding on to these copies and then charging silly prices.I have seen the same people sell the same programme over and over again for years. I don't think it does the hobby any favours in the long run as like i say it'll just put people off. By all means charge £60 plus for a genuine rarity but this is just taking the p@@@.

I can't see dealers holding on to stock like that nowadays, it's very competitive. If they are they are very bad at business. It may be just a case of they piad a lot and don't want to lose money.

I suspect it's as I say, everyone is looking to ebay sales as an indicator of value and a lot of people don't bother to look elsewhere to buy. That's called a closed market and so thing that are rare on there might not be as rare. We've all seen people pay silly prices for stuff on ebay.

Personally I don't trade like that, I like to keep stock turning over, in fact most of my larger sales don't even get listed on my site as I have people waiting for them. I just act as a quility controller for most of them Wink
